I hope so too. As always, there is an impressive cast: www.imdb.com/title/tt0413267/Maybe Shrek's Fiona can't sing as good as our Fiona, but she does have an impressive vocal range. If I remember correctly there's a part in Shrek 1 where she has a singing contest with the bird..and the bird explodes because the vocal range gets too high. There's some really good movies coming out in 2007! I can't wait to see them Cheers, Ginny

Then soon after there was an accident down the mine pit. That was the first time that I head of that name for a ghost.

A movie premiered before the actual series. In the movie, Willie's brother died in a mining accident. And in the time between the movie and the first episode, Willie's father dies. It's an excellent family-oriented series that I would recommend to anyone.

Oh maybe it was the movie I saw...is that the one where the horse dies? And then there's the pony named Sable...
I remember when I was in grade five, that was when our class watched the movie (after we read the book). Anyway, my teacher had some family in Cape Breton who she went to visit. She was telling us about her trip, and I remember her saying something like her neice took horseback riding lessons, and one (or some maybe?) of the horses were the ones used in Pit Pony. Sable Island would be fun to visit, but from what I've heard, nobody is able to go there anymore.
Cheers, Ginny

Oh maybe it was the movie I saw...is that the one where the horse dies? And then there's the pony named Sable. Yeah, that's right Ginny. The pony that died in the accident was called Gem. But her offspring was saved (Sable)...very touching. Unfortunately, Denny Doherty (who played Charley on Pit Pony) died today. Denny was best known for being a part in the 1960's folk-rock group the Mamas and the Papas, known for their soaring harmony on hits like "Dedicated to the One I Love", "California Dreamin'" and "Monday, Monday". The Halifax-born Doherty started his music career in Montreal in 1960 as the co-founder of the Colonials, which later became the Halifax Three. Doherty made a solo album in 1974 and achieved a bit of immortality by both playing the Harbormaster and voicing all the characters for the children's TV series “Theodore Tugboat.”

On Sunday, April 23, there will be a Denny Doherty tribute at Hugh's Room in Toronto. Entitled "The Life and Times of Denny Doherty" the show will tell the life story of Denny, from his meteoric rise to fame as part of The Mamas and the Papas, TV work, and his Nova Scotia roots.

Hannah Abenheimer, who portrayed tomboy Molly McIntyre, has been noted as an outstanding soccer player at Cape Breton University. Another young star from Pit Pony has really, really been in the spotlight. Ellen Page (Maggie MacLean in the seres) has really made a name for herself in Hollywood. Ellen's role in the movie "Juno" has done brilliantly at the box-office. Miss Page has also been on many TV shows. Go Ellen! www.imdb.com/name/nm0680983/bio

Ellen Page has been nominated for an Oscar award for Best Actress in a Leading Role!
I'll have to do a screenshot from that episode of "Pit Pony" where Ellen does a scene with Fiona and Ciaran!
