Hi all...
Have you just finished reading a novel? Or perhaps you've really enjoyed a book from long ago. Let's find out what other members like to read.

I just finished reading all seven books in C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia.
Of course, *I can't wait* for the last Harry Potter book! I have the first five of the American versions in paperback (book 6 in pb soon) and all of the UK versions (printed in Canada) in hardback.

Lol, some of the books I read are in the millions of the best seller list of amazon. Books on Philosophy, linguistics, science, and exegesis.
Anyway, I am currently reading a book that is supposed to teach you Gaelic entitled "Beginner's Gaelic" by James MacLaren. It is ok, except there are some parts that I wonder if a beginner can understand due to the fact that it is so filled with linguistic jargon.
God Bless, afanoffiona

Books are great. I love books.
Harry Potter's just a classic. I love making predictions about what's going to happen, but they never happen. :-)
Loyalties demand I say that anything by SE Hinton is great. Including her children's stories.
I have plans to read Bram Stoker's Dracula tonight. Found it in my room... looks interesting, but long. May take a few days... my parents get annoyed with me, I think, when I read long books, because I sit around doing nothing but read for the whole day until I finish. :-)
And, of course... Susan Kay's Phantom... but I'm just not getting into that.

Let's see. I read so many books it's hard for me to choose a favorite. I just finished 'The Mother Tongue: English and how it got that way' by Bill Bryson. I'm absolutely fascinated by linguistics and if I weren't going to college for dance I'd be going for linguistics! Anyhow, I've picked up 'The Little Drummer Girl' and am going to begin reading that tonight.
CR- I've read the HP series many many times. I've had a few predictions come true, but mostly I like to act out the scenes with my friends. Especially scenes from GOF, though that's spoiled now the movie's come out.

Hi CR, I predicted Prisoner of Azkaban fairly well. I love to read Dracula...it's a tradition for me to read it every Halloween.

I was captivated with word etymologies in school. I very nearly gained a place at the National Spelling Bee in DC. I feel that the HP movies don't do J.K. Rowling or the books in general any justice. Cruicial but very minor plot lines are missing. I know that a screenwriter must do his best trying to squeeze a 700-page book into a two-hour movie. )hugs( Joe

I love all writings by OSHO but I recently read the true story of the 1970's plane crash in the Andes (not the book "Alive) - this one was written by one of the survivors and it was really a book that touches your heart. It makes you appreciate life even more and see so many things in a different light.

Go Harry Potter...I remember when I used to be obsessed...that was before I discoverd Great Big Sea... I'm reading one called "Dead on the Dance Floor". It's a murder mystery. It's quite good. I always read it right before bed and it creeps me out...lol I'm also almost done the entire Anne of Green Gables series. Only three left! Cheers, Ginny

I actually read a good book entitled Because of Win Dixie. I guess a movie was put out based on the book, and I saw the movie. I then went out and got hold of the book, and both the movie and the book are really good.

Lovely! I hope some of the locations in the book aren't fiction. I trust that there have been some effort to preserve these locations.
