Sandy just made landfall near Atlantic City, NJ. Even though the storm is over a thousand miles away from Nova Scotia, its influence on the ocean will continue for quite a few days.

Hope all forum members from down there are safe and sound, and have power! Atlantic Canada will see it today/tomorrow. I know there's a wind warning in effect for Inverness County at least. Fortunately, PEI is supposed to dodge the bullet, with just a bit of rain and wind

Fortunately we missed the heavy rain. Lots of wind though. And no power outages! The house lost about a dozen shingles off the roof but our roofing man mended it.
I pray for a quick cleanup and recovery to all devastated by Sandy's wrath.

I also hope that everybody from this forum who lives in the eastern US and Canada is OK. In the midwest we are generally free of hurricanes, though it was quite windy on Tuesday.
