Yes thanks so very much Joe for asking. At least he knows there is at least one fan out there from the Midwest who wants to see them out here. So perhaps he will consider it. Thanks again Joe, I appreciate it, and thanks to Allister too for responding. Rich

Hi gang... It's about time for another question and answer time with Allister, the Cottars' musical director! Have a question for Allister? Want to ask him what's next for The Cottars? Here's how... 1. Members with at least 5 quality posts may submit one question. 2. I shall gather all the questions on Thursday, November 9th at 11 PM EST and include them in one of my e-mails to Allister. Thanks for your support of The Cottars' Un-Official Forum! Joe

Thanks again Joe for getting together questions for Allister. I have a question for him. I phrased it the best I could: Will there be an announcement of the future of the Cottars (who the performers will be for 2007, their tour schedule, etc.) sometime this month? Hope the question is OK, thanks.

Hmmm...what to ask.....
Here's one...I hope I make it clear enough
I remember reading somewhere a while back that the Cottars have shared the stage with Great Big Sea. I haven't seen that anywhere recently, but I'm sure I did read that once. Anyhoo, could you ask if The Cottars have ever performed with Great Big Sea, and when? I would love to see that!
Cheers, Ginny

Hey Joe Don't worry about Allister. Who knows what he may be up to...maybe he's getting ready for the upcoming Maritime tour...by the way, I noticed the smiley next to the Summerside show on the front page... thanks! Anyhoo, I'm sure everything's fine. If anything was seriously wrong, The Cottars would have canceled their tour by now, and that would be something to worry about. Give him another week or so, and if he doesn't reply, maybe try sending it again. Maybe you accidently sent it to the wrong address or something. Hope this helps some. I worry about a lot of things myself, but like I said, we would have heard about a tour cancelation if for some reason, something was very wrong with Allister or another family member or friend.
Cheers, Ginny

Hi Joe
Well I don't know Allister, but hey I get busy myself and don't always answer my emails timely. So maybe he is busy putting things together for next year, or plans for a new CD, or whatever. I don't think it means he is afraid to respond, or shut off his emails, or there is an illness; I would think you would get a response back if something was wrong, or an email from someone else about an illness.
But I agree with Ginny, if a week goes by without a response, then maybe you can try again, because perhaps he deleted your email by mistake too.

Hey Joe!
Ya, I agree with Ginny. I think that the Cottars [Allister included] are just getting ready for their upcoming performances. Getting ready for performances like that is work, work, and more work. I am getting ready for a recital in the spring, and sometimes I wonder if my fingers are going to fall off!!!!!!!
God Bless, afanoffiona

Hi all...
Yay! Message from Allister! Sorry that he didn't respond directly to the questions you asked, Rich and Ginny. But I'm sure what Allister has to say will be even better!
What follows is a summation of Allister's e-mail:
[red]There’s a new management and booking team being assembled around the new quartet, which is now an absolutely STUNNING band (incorporating a third lead vocalist, 4-part harmony, and the addition of Irish bouzouki, viola, and lap steel).
Besides performing all the best of The Cottars’ early material, Ciaran & Fiona and their new fellow bandmates have developed some very edgy arrangements of songs from the CD “Forerunner” -- such as Tom Waits’ “Hold On” and “Georgia Lee”. With the signing of Bruce Timmons and Claire Pettit, the group can now handle much more challenging music, as well as a wider scope of progressive folk material. We just can’t wait for North America to see & hear this awesome lineup!
Early in the New Year, there’ll be something official announced about the big plans which are now still under wraps.[/red]
