"We had a very Canadian theme this year so we wanted to (support) Canadian music and Canadian performers from across Canada," said Tracy Breitbach, director of Folk on the Rocks.

Fiddlers from Cape Breton - including Rosie Mackenzie, Howie MacDonald and Dave MacIsaac - will play on the right stage Sunday afternoon along with Silk Road Music (of China) and Zephyr Artillerie, a traditional Quebec musical group.

"What [Folk On The Rock] does is we bring in traditional artists, as well as new emerging artists which are, you know, on the edge," said Breitbach.

Is this an indication that Roseanne might be doing more solo work or that the MacKenzie Project is not doing too well? Or am I reading too much into this? Whether she performs solo or with the band , I just hope we get to see a lot more of her.

I'm thinking that it may be a bit of both. I'm a little surprised as to the frequency of her solo performances.

I always thought that she could just go by herself, but also remember the group is still new and not alot of people would have heard about them, so it just might need time

I like Rosie's singing. I wish I could have heard her singing lead while she was still with the Cottars, instead of just singing harmony
