We took a trip to Bethel, New York, to see the fields where the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival took place 40 years ago. The area is wonderfully developed with the newly-built Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, comprising of two outdoor venues and gardens A large museum opened last year. Also there are weekend harvest festivals in September and October. The fields themselves remain relatively untouched. One has free access to walk the natural bowl-shaped hill. Nice photos Joe. I was in HS when Woodstock was going on. I must admit I don't recall a lot of it when it was going on, only later when I went to college and heard the album and saw the movie. When I was in HS I was pretty naive about that whole culture, even in college. Later I got what it was all about, and wish I could have been more a part of it...not the pot smoking or being a hippie freak, but protesting against an unjust war.
