Ciarán and Fiona MacGillivray are lead singers and instrumentalists with The Cottars, and are two-time East Coast Music Award winners. They play fiddle, keyboards, whistles, Irish flute, bouzouki, guitars, and bodhráns, and they stepdance - all with an authority beyond their years. Their anthem, "The Briar And The Rose" is an almost unequalled show-stopper.

International band Cottars coming
Denmark, Japan, United States and now the world-wide known Cottars will bring their tour to Festival Place

March 17's St. Patrick’s Day will be extended for fans of Irish music, as Celtic band the Cottars will be at Festival Place on Sunday, March 22.

Comprised of mostly teenagers, including the bother/sister combination of Fiona and Ciaran MacGillivray, the Cottars have been performing for six years.

The band is also known for their rendition of “The Briar & The Rose” from their 2002 album Made in Cape Breton. Their other albums are 2004’s On Fire and 2006’s Forerunner.

The Cottars will be at Festival Place on Sunday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m.
