Cape Breton Island’s, The Cottars, will be appearing this Saturday night, July 18, in concert at the Antigonish Highland Games. (see the highland games web site for more details)
The group will be performing new material from their forthcoming Rounder Records release as well as various favourites from their previous recordings.
The Antigonish Highland Games are the oldest continuous highland games in North America. First held in 1863, the Antigonish Highland Games are a mid-July tradition and welcome visitors and participants from across the globe. The Antigonish Highland Games are put on annually by the Antigonish Highland Society, who are at work preparing for their 150th anniversary in the 2011. While attending the Antigonish Highland Games, visitors can enjoy the heavy events, highland dancing, piping and drumming, concerts, ceilidhs, and much more.
