The forecasted track for Hurricane Earl is for the storm to make landfall in New England and again in the Maritimes next weekend.

Fortunately Hurricane Earl weakened as it brushed past Cape Cod. The storm made landfall as a very strong tropical storm in Queens County Nova Scotia.

I heard that Nova Scotia did get hit pretty hard...there were thousands of power outages in the last 24 hours, and sadly, there was one death (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/story/2010/09/04/ns-storm-earl-hits.html). I saw some footage on tv of the waves hitting Peggy's Cove, NS...they were about 40ft.
