Hi Joe
A belated but happy new year to you, I feel a little like when as a young lad I had gone to a party but all the people had gone home. Sorry my point being I only discovered this group about two years ago and bought both of the albums I could get my hands on, I very much enjoyed the albums but I am a little dissapointed to hear that they have split, could you give me any ideas as to when and why. cheers Tonie

Hi Tonie, The Cottars have not split, just that Rosie and Jimmy MacKenzie have been replaced by young Claire Pettit on fiddle and veteran Bruce Timmons on guitar. Jimmy could not continue due to ill health, and Rosie went solo and she also has a CD coming out soon. This new arrangement sounds brilliant. Have a go at some of the videos on the forum, or on The Cottars Myspace page for samples at www.myspace.com/cottarsmusicHope you will get The Cottars' third CD "Forerunner" soon and don't forget "Feast", this CD is due out on February 9. Cheers and Happy New Year, Joe
