Last night on NPR, I happened to be listening to Fiona Ritchie's Celtic music program, The Thistle, and Shamrock, and was pleasantly surprised to hear her play "Ballindarry", from The Cottars. Having only the last most recent albums of theirs, I'm not sure if I had heard Fiona sing this song before, or not. I think that she sang just as well, though she certainly sounded younger, and her voice was higher pitched.

"Balinderry" is on The Cottars' very first CD "Made In Cape Breton." I had a look at the Thistle and Shamrock website and found that another Cottars song was featured on last week's show. The song is "Kitchen Racket", also from their first CD... you can listen to a clip on their website... www.thistleradio.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=51&Itemid=86 under Week 41
