Unfortunately, my (our?) hopes for any continuance of The Cottars seem to be gone. All too sad! There seems to be no news of any of the members. In view of this situation, I wonder if any of you on the forum have come across a new group or individual that is carrying on the Celtic music tradition. I would appreciate any information
Thanks, Garth

I do know of a few Celtic music groups/families which may be of interest: The Celtic Martins... www.celticmartins.comThe Willis Clan (who have a new TV show on the TLC channel)... thewillisclan.com/Music_Heaven.htmlThe O'Brien Clan... obrienclanmusic.com/index.php

Fortunately there are still lots around! The Once (from Newfoundland) are a trio that play traditional music and are becoming quite well known around these parts. The Dardenelles, also from Newfoundland, are really talented and play some good upbeat music. From my neck of the woods in PEI, there's Ten Strings and a Goat Skin. I'll post more as I think of some!

Since you mentioned it , I have been following the music of a traditional Celtic music band , called the Gothard Sisters. They are not from Canada though, amazingly enough, but rather from my country of the U.SA. For a sampler of their work , here is their YouTube channel m.youtube.com/user/TheGothardSisters. Not sure if their albums are sold in stores up in Canada , or in stores anywhere though. So we might have to just buy their albums online I think.

Have a look at their tour schedule... gothardsisters.weebly.com/tour-dates.html They will be in Ohio on August 7-8-9 with the Willis Clan! Also, congratulations Jason on your 200th post! Thank you for sticking with the forum!
