They do have the cottars, just not in the same place, but nothing about touring, for either of them.

Hey Everyone,
As I said, I guess we will just have to be patient. Keep in mind that this only happened around six months ago, and this same company has to find performances for an entire year. It is entirely possible that they have just gotten finished.
We also need to remember that the Cottars do not have to do any of this. Alister and the group do all that they do out of the goodness of their heart for people. That is what was so troubling about what happened this summer. They could have just folded, and we would have never heard from any of them again.
As I said, let's just be patient, and wait and see. Maybe they just need some time to collect their thoughts. It has been a rough year for the group. Let's just support them, and wait and see what they will do next.
God Bless, afanoffiona

It's true they decided to honor the bookings they had made in 2006 with Claire and Bruce filling in. I'm happy they did, because I enjoyed their performances in Milwaukee, and would have been quite sad had they not performed at all.
And it's also true that they are probably getting their 2007 stuff together; the group needs to rehearse and get new music together, learn the arrangements they can be most comfortable with, etc.
I assume once they start touring again, they will update their website with the schedule, and certainly will have Claire's and Bruce's photos and bios on there.
And yes they don't have to say anything on their site, or in their concerts, about Rosie and Jimmy. It won't take away from my enjoyment of them all as performers.

I'm with you Mott. I've seen the Cottars a number of times and even though it's different in some ways, in my opinion it's a tighter, more professional group today. Perhaps performers, like wine, get better with age. This is my first post, and I hope it's not seen as a criticism, but the banner pictures are certainly not very flattering to any of the performers. How about posting the new publicity photo that was on the Maritime tour poster? Here's the link. miramusic.net/cottars/gallery.php?action=showimage&id=18&thegal=Supporters&oldgal=Supporters&from=0I don't know about anyone else, but I'm anticipating fantastic things from this great band...I can't wait to see them again!!! They included 8 new tunes on the Maritimes tour, so they are definitely in a creative state.

Hi nancywhiskey! Because members mean so much to me, I've taken your banner suggestion into account. It's up to all of us to get the word out that, yes, The Cottars are still in action. Please continue to post, nancy. Tell us about the performance you attended from the Maritime tour! Cheers, Joe

Hello Nancy!
I agree, Nancy. The Cottars are only going to get better. That is really scary considering how good they already are!
God Bless, afanoffiona
BTW, that is a cool picture. I hadn't seen that one yet!

Wow, thanks for changing the banner picture so quickly - I just love their new publicity photo! Ginny - I won't do a review of the Maritimes - who could top yours??? Really I felt the same way - and I loved The Maid of Llanwellyn too. From Boston in September to Saint John in November, I've noticed so much improvement and I see the bandmates getting more and more cohesive and comfortable with each other and with the material. Looks like they'll have to add levitation to their list of achievements..... ;D
