Hi all,
I'm sure you were shocked to learn of The Crocodile Hunter's death. Steve Irwin was unparalleled in his enthusiasm of wildlife conservation. His passion was shared with tens of millions around the globe via his TV programs.
I really enjoyed the many TV shows he has done. It felt like you were really a part of everything. Steve's wife Terri and young daughter Bindi Sue (also on many shows) were faithful sidekicks on his many adventures.
Croc on, Steve! You will be missed.

Thank you for making this tribute, Joe.
Steve was a remarkable character whose conservation work served as an example to many. His methods may have been unorthodoxed but he never failed to show respect for the animals with which he was dealing.
Considering his many encounters with crocodiles, venomous snakes and so on, it is ironic that he should have lost his life whilst dealing with stings rays which the news reports described as "relatively safe".
My sincere condolences go to all his family. He will, indeed, be missed.
Roger

Steve is one of my favorite wildlife preservationists! Everyday since his death I have read, heard or seen something about him. It is so hard to believe he's gone and so young (only in his 40's). I was just reading that the sting ray that killed him has only been documented killing 17 people in history - how odd that he would die in such a way.
Does anyone know of Jay Leno paid a tribute to him on his show since it was Leno that use to have Steve as a guest all the time?
Thanks for mentioning him Joe. He was such a passionate guy and it is so rare to see people like that in this day and age. I will miss watching his many adventures! I feel so sad for his family but I'm sure they take comfort in knowing he died doing something he loved.

Hi Katie, Thanks for that news article. I hope people are not killing stingrays for revenge. I did a quick Google and found this flixya.com/jay-leno-tribute-to-crocodile-hunter , Jay Leno's tribute. I wasn't able to view it though. Cheers, Joe

Thanks so much Joe! I can't view it here at home but I'll try using one of the better computers as school to download. I always got a kick out of watching Steve on Leno. I wasn't able to see the t.v. the night Leno would have had this one

I too am really bothered by the fact that some people are now killing stingrays, probably for revenge of Irwin's death. This is horrible to me. I get that the man was an icon to many people, but to kill innocent stingrays over it is totally senseless. The stingray that killed Irwin was just naturally reacting to danger, like all other animals do. Stingrays can't reason, they don't know who Steve Irwin is or was. And most importantly, like rainbowsmiles mentioned, would Iriwn himself have approved of this slaughter of stingrays to avenge his death? I hope these people doing this killing are caught and thrown in jail and left to rot. It really makes me angry. Rich

Thanks for those links, Ginny. I was very proud of Bindi's strong and articulate remarks concerning her father. Cheers, Joe
