Tee hee. This is going to sound weird, but I don't care. Over on the OKP, they have a thread for "Great Big Dreams". Yes that is exactly what it sounds like. A place to post about any dreams you've had about Great Big Sea, whether it was meeting them, saving them, or whatever. Which led me to wonder......... Has anyone ever had a dream related to the Cottars? Or any other band for that matter? I have...but I don't want to post it yet...not unless anyone else has.... This could be very interesting Cheers (and sweet dreams ) Ginny

Of course, I mean dreams you've had while you were sleeping. NOT daydreams about meeting the Cottars or your other favourite bands. I mean, come on, we've all had them Cheers, Ginny

Hi Ginny and crushedroses, What a great topic! I have had a dream about The Cottars. It's partially based on my getting Ciaran and Jimmy mixed up when I met them. Here's what happened in my dream. I approach a long table where all Jimmy, Rosie, Fiona and Ciaran are sitting. I give Jimmy a blank piece of paper to sign. Jimmy sends the paper down to the rest of the group. I walk down to Ciaran who's at the other end of the table. Before he hands me the paper, he asked what the internet address of my forum was. I could not remember what it was. I told him something (can't remember what) and as I walk away, a member from this forum was behind me! Joe zzzzz

OK I had my first Cottar dream last night. It’s really not very interesting or revealing, but here it is: I was at some festival and the Cottars had just finished their performance. I was in the front standing and clapping and I looked around, there were many other people and they were all standing but I realized hardly anybody else was clapping. Just standing and looking. And I couldn’t understand it, because the Cottars were so good and the people were standing and watching but not clapping. But the Cottars didn’t seem to mind. Then I sat down, and it was like a pub-type area where I was and other people sitting next to me, with a counter, like at a bar. Fiona came by where I was sitting, and she was serving free wine, and she gave some to the lady next to me because (Fiona said) she had bought a CD of them. And I felt unhappy because I had all 3 CDs but Fiona didn’t know that, and I didn’t get any free wine from her. But someone else (Ciaran?) came along and filled my glass. And I had a dish in front of me, with cups on it, but the cups were rattling and that bothered Fiona, so she said she’d fix it. So she started tying down my cups to the dish so they wouldn‘t rattle, and I told her she was going to too much trouble, but I guess she just wanted to be helpful. That was about it. A stupid dream yes, with nothing really revealing or psychological that I can tell (maybe one of you can tell me what my dream meant). Anyway I thought I’d share my Cottar dream with you all.

Hi Rich,
Thanks for sharing your dream! The part where you're the only one clapping might mean that you feel that more people should hear The Cottars in concert! I don't know what the CD's or the rattling cups mean; perhaps it means not to keep your CD's on the kitchen table!
Cheers, Joe

Hi Joe I was actually thinking about the dream and I agree with you about the first part. I do feel the Cottars aren't appreciated enough, especially here in the Midwest, as much as they should be. They should be as well known as say, Gaelic Storm, who in my opinion are nowhere near as good as the Cottars. The 2nd part, about the CDs, maybe it's some desire of mine that they know I enjoy their music very much, and hope they would acknowledge that to me. Of course I don't think I should wish that, I should just enjoy the music and not worry about what they think or don't think about me, or if they know I exist. The 3rd part, with the cups and Fiona tying them down to stop them from rattling, is a hard one. Maybe I feel they would bend over backwards to make their fans happy? Or perhaps I feel the Cottars are perfectionists and don't want things like someone's rattling cups to interfere with their performance? Oh well, back to work.

Hi everyone,
It is incredibly rare that I dream. Or if I do, it is even more rare that I remember them. But I did dream briefly last night...
On Monday, I will be going to HMV in London to attend a signing session by this wonderful new group called All Angels. I dreamed I was already there. Even though I have already met the group, I was told by the security guy that I would not be allowed to approach them any closer than ten yards! How was I supposed to get something signed from that distance? An argument ensued and I walked out of the shop with four unsigned CDs. HMV were not in my good books. Then I woke up!
Within an hour, I read something in my local paper. "HMV are to open a store in Horsham" (which is where I live)! Weird!

Hi Roger, Great that HMV will be opening a store near you! I wonder if HMV have any shops in Canada. Right...when it opens, don't forget to arrange the CD's so that Hayley Westenra, All Angels, Libera, etc, are at the front of the shelf. I had a dream about Hayley. I was still in school and she was performing at my school cafeteria. Can't believe it will be nearly a year since I saw her perform live. Cheers Joe

Old Topic, but here goes nothing.
I had a dream once of getting to meet Fiona and Ciarian, and when they found out I was a pianist, they asked me to play for them. I kinda forgot how to play for a second. It was one of those situations where you sit down to play, and you are so nervous, you forget how to play for a second.
But I played really hard, and put everything into it. I made sure to listen that every chord was of even sound, and tried to be so perfect, that at the end I just bursted into tears. While I was sobbing, Fiona came over, but her hand on my shoulder, and smiled. Then I woke up.
The dream gave me this really weird, depressed feeling inside. I don't know why. I guess I shouldn't try to explain it. It's just a dream.
God Bless, afanoffiona
