Thanks, I hope between our barbecuing and ball games that we can take a minute and think about the people who gave their lives so we can have barbecuing and ball games.

I observed memorial day by walking to an old cemetary, picking wild flowers along the way. When I arrived at the cemetary I noticed a plot whose tombstone was in ruin. The name on the grave marker was worn off. Yet I knew that it belonged to a civil war soldier because underneath the flag there was the symbol of the "Grand Army of the Republic" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Army_of_the_Republic. So I layed my flowers on his stone. I thought to myself, though your memory may be forgoten, your memorial shall not be forsaken. I didn't have a barbaque, play ball, or do anything else to celebrate though. My sister and I just spent the day walking around the cemetary visiting the different graves, and learning about the history of the area.
