This seems to be what the group is calling themselves now MacGillivray Cottars & Band. I have seen them billed as this on a couple of sites already for upcoming shows. I just wondered if anyone else has seen this and maybe comment. Does anyone think that this name is permanent or what.

Oh I was thinking Mackenzie..hmm maybe its to avoid confusion, so people know its only half the cottars, where as in in summer it was more like Claire and Bruce were filling in.

Tia I agree Tia, they probably are calling themselves "MacGILLIVRAY COTTARS" to show that it's just the MacGillivray part of the Cottars who will be there, and not the MacKensie part. And the "& Band" are the other members. It does make me wonder, though, if there was some legal issue with the group calling themselves simply the Cottars; not necessarily with the MacKensies but maybe with booking agents who expect the band as they appear on their CDs. Maybe not.

Hi all,
I also saw this name change when I saw the April 13 date in Nanaimo, BC.
It remains to be seen if "The MacGillivray Cottars & Band" will be be the definite new name of the group. I like it !
