The Cottars return to Summerfolk!

Siblings Ciaran and Fiona MacGillivray have travelled the globe as lead singers and instrumentalists with The Cottars. Joined by fiddler Claire Pettit and guitarist Bruce Timmons, a new Cottars unit is back at Summerfolk.

Celtic-infused singing, playing and joyous step-dancing in the spirited musical tradition of Cape Breton.

Adding some East Coast flavour is always a good thing at Summerfolk.

Justin Hines is off to perform at the Olympic Games and Lily Frost is unavailable Summerfolk weekend so I had an opportunity to book The Cottars and I'm thrilled they've accepted.

Singing the praise of Summerfolk

Another successful weekend at the 33rd annual Summerfolk Festival in Owen Sound.

Over 12 thousand people gathered at Kelso Beach Park for Summerfolk and the best in folk music, art and dance.

The three day festival wrapped up last night with a packed crowd for the finale and jam session.

Festival Chair, Brenda Scott says it was another great year as ticket sales up 10 per cent from last year.

She feels alot of their success has to do with the casual, yet professional atmosphere at Summerfolk.

Over 35 acts graced the stage this weekend, with performances from the Arrogant Worms, Harry Manx, and The Cottars.
