Hi all, You may have been wondering why thecottars.com has not been updated in months. I've been in touch with Cheryl Smith, who designed the website. Cheryl told me that since the group broke up, she no longer maintains the site (duh) and passed me onto Ed Mc Dermott of McDermott Enterprises They are managing The Cottars at the moment. So I'll get Ed to fill us in on any upcoming updates on their official site. Cheers Capt. Joe

Thanks Joe, cant wait for some news , is the McDermott enterprises related to John McDermott? I guess that would make sense because wasnt he the one who kinda put them together? Tia

Why didn't they just close the site and then tell us? All this 'in the dark' business is kinda irritating

Wow, I don't know what to say. Still no update. I wonder why the privately owned website [miramusic] has not been updated as well . I am getting worried about the concert in Rockford. I would like to order tickets, but I want to be sure the Cottars are going to be there. God Bless, afanoffiona

You mean with the Chieftains? Yeah I was wondering myself but I assumed the Cottars wouldn't be there because of their new lineup.

Ya, mott. It is the concert that is going to be the closest to me. I would like to get my tickets, but I can't risk the Cottars not being there, and then me having to refund the tickets.
I don't know what the new linup would have to do with it. But, for whatever reason, I hope they come near Milwaukee this year!

God Bless, afanoffiona Hi afan Last year I went to see the Cottars when they played with the Chieftains in Chicago's Orchestra Hall, and I was somewhat disappointed. The Chieftains were great for sure, but the Cottars did like 2 songs. I thought they would do at least half a set, but 2 songs was way too little. I did see the Cottars in Milwaukee, twice last year, they were great. Perhaps they will appear again, it's early yet to schedule for summer 2007. I do hope they appear in the midwest somewhere again.

Hey Mott!
I was at that concert too. It seems to me that the Cottars did more songs than that. However, you are right that they did not do that many. I am not sure if it would be the same this time or not.
They sure did do a lot of stepdancing, though. I never realized how good all of them are at stepdancing. They were keeping up with the other guys quite well.

Really you were there? Well next time I go see the Cottars I'll wear my Cottars T shirt and you'll know me, just look for a goofy looking guy wearing a Cottars t shirt and you'll see me. Yeah the step dancing was great, Ciaran's kyboard playing was great, but they should have done more. It was nice to see them though, and I have nothing against the Chieftains except they don't do enough vocal songs. I would love to see the Cottars in concert here, anywhere nearby, Peoria, Oshkosh, anywhere.

That would be great!
Ya, I was there. It was my first time ever driving downtown Chicago. Wow was that difficult! I also could not find my car after the concert, and spent half an hour wandering around the parking deck trying to find it. I was disappointed that the Cottars didn't do more. I thought it was worth it, though!
